Students in intensive English come from varied
educational background and from all over the world. Some
are preparing themselves to enter an undergraduate
program while others are interested in graduate studies.
A few students enter the intensive English program to to
improve their English for business purposes or for
self-enrichment. Yet another group comprises graduate
students who have been admitted conditionally to the
University with the provision that they take Intensive
English before pursuing graduate studies. The only
educational requirement to enroll in the Intensive
English Program is completion of a high school education
or its equivalent. Therefore, intensive English students
have varying levels of English ability, ranging from
beginner to highly advanced.
