Bill Sanchez was born in Fallon, Nevada in 1968. He grew up in Benson, Arizona (near Tucson) and El Paso, Texas. He relocated to the Arlington in 1992 after graduating from Angelo State University, San Angelo, Texas with a BBA in finance.
After college, he worked for Metro Airlines (DBA American Eagle) as a Fleet Service Clerk. In 1992 Metro Airlines was acquired by Simmon's Airlines, a subsidiary of AMR Corporation (Parent Company of American Airlines). In 1993, he began working for Barton Protective Services in the central business districts of Dallas and Fort Worth. He was then hired by the Dallas Central Appraisal District as a Property Tax Appraiser.
In 1995, he was hired by the Department of Internal Audit at the University of Texas at Arlington as an Internal Auditor. In addition to performing financial and compliance audits, he acquired computer hardware and software skills on the Macintosh platform.
In 1998, he transferred to the English Language Institute. His current responsibilities include: database development, web development, email administration, NT administration, and general hardware/software/networking support.
Sanchez served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1992 to 1998. He was a member of the 301st Fighter Wing at Carswell Air Force Base, Fort Worth, Texas and participated in Operation Deny Flight, Operation Decisive Edge, and Operation Southern Watch.
Sanchez has traveled overseas and has a broad understanding of different cultures. He has been in the following countries: Canada, Italy, Austria, Denmark, Germany, England, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Portugal (Azores), South Korea, Taiwan, and Mexico. He has also been to the Middle East, the Caribbean, and the Hawaiian Islands.
